Steve Vai’s birthday is a highly anticipated event at our house. The date is marked on the calendar and Saxon crosses off the days, he was awake at 5 am to let me know that we had to make a cake right now!
I made him wait.
This year we made a “flexible” guitar. Saxon absolutely loves that the neck is broken, it appeals to his destructive nature!
… and then it was time for the birthday song, sung in his best Ronnie James Dio Voice! We had a fantastic day filled with guitar solos and we even let off fireworks in celebration! A nice little reward that marks the time about 5 or 6 years ago that saw our lives take a very sharp turn in direction when Saxon discovered Steve Vai!!
