For Dad

Matt commented that there were a lot of photos of Saxon and not enough of Griff here, so in my constant effort to take great shots of Griff, here are a few gems. He can be so difficult to shoot because he has so much trouble looking at me. Don’t worry I don’t take it personally.

Watching a crane lift a boat off Ultra Magnus (blue and white truck across the road) out the front this morning,

gave me the rare opportunity to photograph the boys together, happy.

Happy Friday Fun Day!

"Stop Smiling At Me"

Translation – stop taking my photo, I’m sick of it. Saxon was having some sort of conniption, as Matt would say. In this photo he might look happy but he is actually laughing and crying at the same time, it’s a skill I know. We all went for a simple bike ride, Saxon took his scooter and I was to walk with him while Matt and Griff went off by themselves. Saxon did not like that plan and subsequently imploded. I took him to the park in an effort to calm him down, but to no avail. After I pulled the scooter with Saxon on it all the way home he had a glass of lemonade and we settled in to watch a Frank Zappa dvd (with Steve Vai on it). It helped but it took a while. New plan of attack, Bike rides in two parts. First take Griff on his own then come back and get Saxon and then just go at a slower pace. Should avoid conniption. One can only try.

Green Tea

Steve Vai Green Tea to be exact! Saxon found the Irish breakfast teabags and insisted on a cup of tea right then and there. He loves drinking tea, it can’t be too hot and it has to have sugar and milk, he usually has a cup every morning with his breakfast but he also likes to have a cup of tea whenever the mood strikes. In a skull mug of course!

Sunday Morning

Early this morning whilst trying to sleep I could hear Frank Zappa blaring from the tv, not unusual for a Sunday morning so I tried to ignore it for a while before Matt woke me up and told me I’d better get my camera and go to the kitchen. This is what I found… I had forgotten that I had put a Zappa dvd on the top shelf of the cupboard above the fridge so that Saxon couldn’t watch it on his own. There were some songs I don’t think he should see just yet but he had different ideas…

Saxon had Foxy at the table for breakfast this morning. This guitar seems to be glued to him, he has hardly put it down since christmas. He keeps reminding me that it is his favourite present.
