The Drum Lesson

Saxon had the opportunity to have a lesson with one of his favourite drummers, Chad Wackerman, he was so excited yet most suprisingly he listened. I could tell he was trying no to disappoint, he played with his head down appearing almost shy, not his usual boisterous self when behind the kit. It was a good lesson for him, he wanted to know what Chad was trying to show him, he gave it a go, Chad’s effort to show Sax how to play quiet didn’t really sink in but we can keep working on that!

Happy Birthday Steve Vai

Steve Vai’s birthday is a really big deal. Saxon anticipates the day with much excitement, he chooses a cake design, helps me make it and sings Happy Birthday to Steve Vai before blowing out the candles. Most years he doesn’t even eat the cake! This year was the first time he invited guests. I suprised him with helium balloons and Twist popper confetti cannons. We played pin the whammy bar on the Ibanez. I’m pretty sure Steve Vai’s birthday has become one of my favourite days in the year, it’s more a celebration of the boys and how wonderful it is to have such quirky loveable kids.

and everyone had their photo taken with Steve…

but best of all was this episode of Saxon TV
